ALTEN IT Meet-up - an internally facilitated technical learning experience

ALTEN Romania's IT consultants from Bucharest met on 7 November at Tech Hub, on the occasion of ALTEN IT Meet-up # 3, an interactive discussion about the projects they are developing, challenges, technologies and working tools.

ALTEN Romania has a team of over 300 IT and engineering specialists who develops projects together with partners in the telecommunications, banking, automotive, aeronautical, insurance, pharmaceutical and retail industries. One third of them are part of the IT ALTEN Romania division, a growing community of knowledge sharing, with a common language: the interesting projects they are developing.

At its third edition, this year's IT Meet-up took place under the slogan 'Informal Tech Talks', a trend backed by the ease with which talks were held, as well as the rich Q&A sessions and networking.

ALTEN Romania expertise has continuously diversified in its 11 years of activity, with our consultants developing reference projects, building a community of experts that constantly evolves through the exchange of technical experiences that facilitate practical learning sessions, such as the IT Meet-up. These learning sessions are part of the company's commitment to connect the diverse experiences of our consultants to professional development.

The 7 consultants who also took a role as speakers at the event told the other colleagues what a day looks like on the projects they are developing, where the motivation comes from and what aspects of the diversity of their work bring advancements in technology. In terms of IT project development, the sessions of knowledge sharing have been divided between mobile application development, RPG, Java, Node.js development, ETL, QA, and IT project management.

The challenges implied in each project differ from one specific experience to another, but still meet at common points. From an IT Project Manager point of view, these challenges are often about managing virtual teams, adapting to changing project goals, clarity with which expectations are expressed, or assuming responsibility at various stages of development. From the perspective of the QA specialist involved in building and managing business processes, identifying bottlenecks in their logic before they occur is a challenge to optimizing and aligning data to workflows. The meeting also presented prototype projects with real potential to help improve the experience of a segment of the population with diverse medical services.
